Being a Peace Advocate, it really hurts me lalo na kung maririnig ko sa iba na “bombahin na yan” patayin na yang mga salot na yan para matigil na ang gulo”, when in reality war is never the answer. Mindanao is my second home, I spent my High school in Davao and although it is a Peaceful place, I still feel sad and hurt sa ating mga kapatid na naiipit sa gulo sa kabilang dako ng Mindanao. It’s so sad na nagegeneralize ng iba lalo na yung hindi naman alam ang boung istorya ang mga pangyayari ngayon. Let’s not judge base on our emotions lets be objective. Kung iisipin, ang lakas ng loob nilang sabihing gyerahin na ang Mindanao palibhasa wala sila sa posisyon ng mga taong andun at naiipit sa labanan. Ikaw, subukan mo kayang pumunta dun at danasin ang hirap na nararanasan nila, subukan mo tumira sa isang lugar na puro pagsabog at putukan ang naririnig mo. Subukan mong tumira sa mga evacuation center ng walang makain, hindi nakakaligo at nagkakasakit na ang lahat dahil sa walang gamot at hindi malinis na lugar. Itry mong matrauma dahil sa gulo at takot sa mga putukan,. Itry mo kaya! Sila nagtitiis sila! Wala silang magawa! Wala silang mapuntahan! At ngayon, heto tayo na nasa safe na lugar nagsasabing gyerahan ang Mindanao. The Nerve! Grrr.. Nakakagigil. Hindi lang mga Muslim ang Apektado dito! pati mga Christiano. Hindi lang ang AFP at mga rebelde ang nalalagasan kundi pati din mga sibilyan! Mga sibilyang walang kalaban-laban, mga batang walang muwang, mga sanggol na wala namang kasalanan. Sila ang mas naapektuhan. Kung tutuusin mas malaki pa ang gagastusin ng Gobyerno sa pag-gyera na yan kaysa magpakain ng mga IDP’s, mas malaki ang makukurakot ng mga kurap! Kaya huwag nating hayaan na matuloy ang gyera, Let’s be fair, let’s give the children of Mindanao a chance to see the world, a chance to live a Peaceful society. Alam ko isa yung milagro pero umaasa ako, One Day matutupad yun.

Working in a Non-Profit Organization is one of the reasons why I have a lot of Muslim friends. And end of Ramahdan is near, its like Christmas for us Christians. Ramahdan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which lasts 29 or 30 days. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, smoking and sex with their partners during daylight hours and is intended to teach Muslims about patience, spirituality, humility and submissiveness to God. (from Wikipedia).

Little Ms. Dream Girl

I wrote A Post About the things I want to accomplish before I die a year ago (click here to view) but as I reread it now, I feel that there are things that I may not be able to do, though I still wanna believe that I will realize the following :

1. Build an Orphanage -

Status: as of this moment, not a single rock has been built to start my orphanage but I am slowly realizing that dream because I am part of an NGO (AAI Philippines) that also advocates to children. It feels good cause I am learning through it that may help me someday when I have my own NGO already ( hope someone hears my wish and sponsor me a building) I am now learning all the do’s and don’ts on being on a foundation and what makes learning fun is that I also get to travel and meet people.

2. Sent A Scholar to School-

Status: I know this one is also ambitious but I am now eyeing on someone I wanna send to school of course aside from my brother.

3. Dream House

Status: Pending . hehe I am still on the process of realizing this dream. I know this will take years because I still don’t have a permanent job. hehe Hope I could find one

4. Meet Bo Sanchez-

Status: On the Process. -I really wanna join the Feast but my schedule kills my chance of being there. huhu but I hope I’ll have the chance to meet him before the year ends .

5. Be one of PHR’s writers

Status: On the Process – - I have already written some stories that hopefully will pass their standards but I still need to encode it. There’s no harm in trying so I am going to submit it when I’m done wish me luck! this is one of my greatest dream!

6. Indie Film

Status: On the Process. I don’t have the materials but hoping I could make another amateur video again. It’s fun doing a shoot and laughing with friends (tagged Amie, Lesh)

7. Photography.

Status- : Pending . I don’t have DSLR! hehe I guess I still need to save more to be able to have it!

8. Disk Jock Dream

Status: pending– Maybe someday. ?:)

I guess this is all, I narrow down my priorities because I may not be able to do all of those things when I am dreaming too much. But who says it’s wrong to dream. It’s not, but it’s best to focus your energy more to the things that you think is easier. but there’s no issue on dreaming Big. In fact I Dream Big. But for this moment, I wanna focus more on the list I have above. That way I am gonna achieve them sooner.

All I can say is, never stop dreaming cause it will make you feel alive. It will drive you to the things that you wanna achieve. Never Stop dreaming, because when you dream all the universe will conspire for you to achieve it (hehe from the alchemist)

There are people in my life who give me comfort when the going gets tough, People who who will lift me up when I fall and people who will always be there no matter what, they are called friends. On the other hand, there are people who will guide you when you’re wrong and lead you to the right path. Someone who’s not just a friend but a teacher who never stops teaching you the light. Someone who will criticize you but will still be beside you, even if you fall because it is his pride to see you learn.

Well, Sir Gaddi for me is both. His my friend and my mentor (naks mentor!hehe) I seldom met people as good as him, very patient and loving. I really don’t know if I have already told him how thankful I am for all the things that he did for us most especially after the fall ( I don’t have to elaborate on this. He knows it already) Big Thanks for the entire support sir! For guiding us and for always wanting us to be in a better place. I know you are not perfect, but who wants perfection when we have you?

Happy Birthday!! We are so blessed that you are with us, and we could never ask for more. You’re the best! .I know you are happy helping others but we wish that you’ll find that girl you’ll be forever with and will never leave you till the end. Sir, whatever will happen, we are here for you. Through thick and thin, till our hair gets gray.

Fun Run :) weh?

It is my very first time to join a fun run and the funny thing is that, I did not even finish a kilometer. hahaha.It was forgivable for me since I am not a runner, I don’t practice and I am not a very physical person. I am a girl who loves to stay in bed, lay on the couch and watch tv, in short, I am couch potatoe. haha. In addition to that, I am also an avid fan of food. It’s my best friend when I’m stressed and depressed, that’s why I am this BIG.

My first fun run, is not fun why? because I almost collapsed in the middle of EDSA ( the route of the fun run was from EDSA Shrine to Camp Aguinaldo Grounds), good thing there’s a medic (from CRS-REACT) who’s following us. So we rode on the

medic car as we (Waina and I) are watching them. It didn’t feel good because, I remember back when I was still thin how long my endurance was. I could keep up with my uber fit friends in terms of longevity in exercising. But now, look at me now. I am fat! huhu

That fun run made me realize that I really need to move my body and shake those pounds out, so that I may be able to wear my old clothes again. The fun run made me ponder on the things that I have been doing with my body. I am abusing it, literally by eating lots of sweets, salty foods, soft drinks, fats and lots of cholesterol. It made me love myself even more. I promise to myself that I will continue running for the benefit of my heart, my liver, my body. And if I really want to exercise I should also invest on the thigns that I need, like proper clothing and of course shoes. I am actually canvassing for the best shoes that fits me and my budget so that I can start my new lifestyle Wish me luck! I am gonna be fit this 2011 yeah!

Sa dinami-dami ng naghihirap na Pilipino, hindi narin naten mabibilang sa ating mga daliri kung anu-ano nab a yung mga nagawang diskarte ng isang Pinoy upnag kumita lang ng pera. Sidewalk vendor, kahit hinuhuli ng MMDA, nagtitinda ng DVD kahit nireraid ng OMD, Nakikipaghabulan sa Bus upang magtinda sa mga pasahero. Pero netong nakaraang buwan ay may nakakakuha ng attensyon ko, Ok lang naman sana kung minsan at sana naman ay totoo pero kung araw-araw mo ng makasalamuha, Aba nakakabwisit nay un.
Kaninang umaga, may sumakay sa Bus na sinasakyan ko sa may bandang Tandang Sora Ave, May namatay dawn a tanod, nabaril at kailangan ng tulong at saan kappa kompleto sa props dahil may Xerox na bgry. Clearance, death certificate daw at medico legal daw. Nanghihingi ng Limos, kexo kahit daw di magkakakilala ay tulungan naman daw echos.
I don’t believe them, kasi nung nakaraang lingo naman ganun din kapit-Bahay naman nila at ang masama pah neto, sabay kaming bumaba sa may Dian at bumuli sila ng food sa Ministop kung saan bumili din ako. Baka di nila ako napansin pero sobrang nabadtrip talaga ako, grrr.. anu yun, diba? Nagpabarya pah. Kaya talaga tinakpan po tenga ko kapag may ganyang-ganyang drama na sa bus ee.. Nakakabwisit kasi ng bongga panira ng day.
Sabi saken ni Ate Honey about sa mga namamalimos Hayaan daw sila kung yun yung ginagawa nila, Magbibigay parin dapat tayo kasi atleast we did our part, Konsensya na nila yun kung di man pala totoo mga pinagsasabi nila. Ayun lang.

He is one of my inspirations. He is one of the few people that I really wanted to meet in person, Pero ewan ko bah kasi kahit kailan hindi na matutupad ang pangarap ko na yun..

I was second year when He caught my attention, nakakakita ako ng lumang redears digest sa kwarto ng tita ko at binasa ko to at andun nga ang kanyang life story.. Si Karol Józef Wojtyła o mas kilala naten na si Pope John Paul II. His story touched me, it made me realize to be a better Catholic. Yun yung dahilan kung bakit nagsimula akong magbasa ng bibliya at aralin at alamin ang mga salita ng Diyos. Noon ko din unang pinangarap na mameet ang taong ito, ang taong mahal na mahal ng buong mundo. Hindi ko maintindihan how I feel kapag nakikita ko xa sa TV o sa picture man lang, I feel like napakamakasalanan ko kapag itabi sa kanya. Sya ang dahilan kung bakit gusto kong malaman ang napakaraming bagay sa aking relihiyon.

Ngunit noong April 2, 2005, Iniwan na nya ang mundo at nag mga taong nagmamahal sa kanya. April 2, 14 days before my graduation nang High School.. I feel so devastated. Paano na? Paano ko na xa makikit at makikilala ng personal kung wala na xa..? Naiinggit tuloy ako sa mga taong nakasama nya, nakita xa at nahawakan nya. Gusto ko din maranasan yun, pero wala na akong pagkakataon.

Now 6 years after he died, gagawin na syang SANTO. Sabi nga sya ang pinakamabilis na mabeatify , walang kokontra pag sinabi kong mahal xa ng boung mundo, ginagalang sya ng buong mundo, Kristiyano man o hindi. And that’s what make me happy , na marami ang buhay na natouched dahil sa kanya..

Building A Culture of Peace

Building a Culture of Peace is a joint project of Asia America Initiative, AAICFP, Consular Corps of the Philippines and Norwegian Embassy.

It includes Arts of Peace where the Muslim and Christian students will be trained to create beautiful artworks, from recycled materials, depicting little ways that children and young people can do to contribute to peace building; Cultural Exchange that is centered on the commonalities between Christians and Muslims; Wall of Peace where the Tree of Peace and Commitment statements will be posted and painted; Writers for Peace aimed at training young people to be proactive and sensitive in writing articles and stories; Garden for Peace to protect the environment and orient kids that small things like planting flowers or vegetables can be a big part of nation building; and Fit for Peace where the students will be trained on proper hygiene and sanitation because a Catalyst for Peace should be healthy and strong

Ayan, kinopya ko lang dun sa FB page ng AAI-Catalysts for Peace. Inihaw, ayun natapos din ang aming pagpapasaya sa mga bata ng Maharlika Elem. School, Kasama nga ang mga Consuls.. Ang Saya talgang nakakataba ng puso na makitang ngumiti ang mga bata na nakareceive ng hygiene kit, LOREAL Kids Shampoo at toys, crayons and coloring books. Nakakatuwa kasi kahit matagal silang naghintay dun ay napawi ang kanilang pagod ng makita nila ang kanilang mga laruan. Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na mayroon na naman kaming mga batang natulungan. All though hindi ko naman talga nakita yung mga expression ng mga bata nang amreceive nila ang gifts dahil wala ako at that moment kasi nasa laboyan ako.. bigla kasing nag kulang ang food na para sa mga bata kaya mega takbo ako sa pinkamalapit na Jolibee para mapawai ang kanilang gutom. Ang malas ko pah ay namali ang pagtayo ko dahil sa sborang excited na bumalik sa venue kea nasprain tuloy ako pero oks lang yun basta makabalik kami agad.

Isa pah sa mga talgang nagpasaya sa akin sa araw na yun ay ang pag-sama sa akin ng aking very close friend na si JHEY .. hahaha atlast nahila ko na din xa para mag.volunteer at si SIR JASON LUNA TANJUAKIO hahahaha ang aking Arts Teacher nung ako ay nag-aaral pah kasama ang aking dating kaklase at kanyang side-kick na si Caloy. ayun.. haha ang saya kasi parang nag-iipon -ipon ulit kami ng aking mga dating kasama sa isang dating masamang panaginip at ngayon ay nagsisimula kami para sa isang magandang panginip kung saan para naman ito ngayon sa KAPAYAPAAN. Natutuwa ako at sana ay mas marami pang volunteers ang dumaitng sa AAI, By the way high way nakasama rin pala namin ang Artistikong Kabataan ni Ms. Karina Jardin, ayun masaya silang kasama at hindi ka talga madadala dahil sa sobrang daldal nila (peace A.K.ehehe)

All in all masasabi ko na successful ang activity na yun, at sana kahit isa man lang sa mga batang iyon ay may na-inspire kami para sumunod xa sa aming mga yapak at maging tagapagtaguyod narin sa kapayapaan..

Mabuhay ang mga kabataang handang tumayo para sa pagbabago.

Matagal-tagal nadin na hindi ko man lang sinilip tong bahay ko na toh.. tsk.tsk. andami na sigurong nangyari, sa mga buhay-buhay ng kapwa ko bloggers na dati ay nausubaybayan ko.. Kumusta na kaya si lolo jkulisap? May bago kayang kontes sa bahay nya? si Kuya Pong, anu na kaya ang balita? Anu na naman kaya ang post ngayon ni KUya yin ko.. hmmm.. ee si ate salbehe na laging naglilike sa akin sa FB, anu na naman kaya ang adventures nya ngayon.. si ate len ganda, nasa thailand paba? si Makatang duking, kumusta naman? si frendship geylii.. asan na? magaling na kaya yung kagat ng aso sa kanya? hmmm.. Si kuya dan jacob a.k.a animus anu kaya ang meron sa site nya ngayon? eh si sir daniel, naku di ko pah natapos yung series nya huhuhu. sino pa ba? si amie emo at si leshang labo anu na ba ang nangyari sa dalawang yun? at sa mga hindi ko nabanngit, anu na balita sainyo? huhuhu. miss ko na dumalaw sa mga bahay nyo at magkalat ng tae ko hahaha

Sa totoo lang sobrang namiss ko ang pag-boblog kahit wala naman kwenta (para sa iba) yung mga nilalagay ko dito.. Namiss ko yung mga taong nakilala ko sa mundong ito, Namiss ko mag-manag ng blog ko at makipag-kwentuhan sa mga kapwa ko bloggers. Namiss ko maglagay ng post, at amg-edit pag may nabasa akong mali.. Namiss ko mamili ng pictures na ilalagay ko sa blog ko, at Namiss ko mag-isip kong anu ang ibablog ko.. hmm… sa mahabang panahon na yun, hindi ako nakalimot, marami akong gustong gawin kasama kayo, eeh anu magagawa ko busy ang artista? (haha) Nasa NGO ako ngayon, at sobrang nag-eenjoy ako sa ginagawa ko, marami akong natutunan araw-araw at hindi paulit-ulit yung mga bagay na ginagawa ko, which is super pabor sakin dahil sa madali ngakong mabored.. haha

Kaya sa mga kapwa ko bloggers jan na nasa abroad, mag-donate naman kayo sa amin, hahaha ibahagi nyo naman yung inyong mga kayaman jan I assure you, hindi mapupunta sa maling mga kamay ang inyong idodonate dahil ipang-jojollibee ko lang naman.. hihi peace joke

To seal the commitments of the AAI-Catalysts for Peace Chapters formed through the Peace Caravan Luzon Leg and introduce them to credible peace building organizations and active peace advocates, we will be having our Sigaw ALang-Alang sa Mindanaoans (SALAM) II on December 12, 2010 from 8:00AM to 6:00 PM at the Community Complex of Brgy. Pitogo, Makati City. The highlights of the event will be the reporting of the Service Projects for Peace (SPP) from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM by the AAI-Catalysts for Peace Chapters and the Panel Discussion and Commitment Building by the Partners and Guests in support of the SPP. The Service Project for Peace (SPP) is part of the Peace Caravan Framework which provides the participants more active roles as peace advocates. Through the SPP, the participants were able to plan as a group and incorporate in their action plans all the concepts, learning and values instilled in them during the caravan.
In this view, we are inviting you to grace our event and help us support and sustain the Service Projects already done by our Catalysts for Peace in their schools and communities. We believe that you will be able to give them hope and empower them to be champions of peace today. All of us in Asia America Initiative believe that our investment to our children and youth is not a charitable gesture or an act of extravagance; rather it is a tangible way of building a culture of peace and development today and in the future.
